Hypnosis services to be provided do not include the practice
of medicine. A Hypnotist is not licensed by the state as
a healing arts practitioner. These services are
non-diagnostic, and are complementary to the healing arts services
that are licensed by the state. Hypnosis is an adjunct,
not a substitute for conventional medical treatment or
therapy. Hypnosis for medical issues requires a physician
referral.

At the Motivational Institute of Hypnosis, we
usually make contact with your physician to get a medical referral.
Since 1958, hypnosis has been recognized by the American Medical
Association (AMA) as a legitimate treatment modality for a wide
range of medical and behavioral problems. Despite an AMA
recommendation that hypnosis instruction be included in the
curricula of medical schools, a majority of physicians have no
training or experience with hypnosis. If your physician or
therapist does not mention hypnosis as a complement to your medical
care, it may be they lack sufficient knowledge or training in this
specialized field. Of course, most physicians are subject to
time constraints that would make it difficult for them to personally
incorporate hypnosis into your medical care program. Knowing
this, you may choose to ask your physician to refer you to a
Certified Hypnotherapist.

Anxiety and
Stress: Stress and anxiety are the greatest friends of
chronic pain, medical issues and dis-ease. Over
$3,000.000.000 dollars are spent annually for stress
related medical issues. Through hypnosis you will begin to feel a
lifting of everyday stress and anxiety, thereby relieving you from
unnecessary pain or illness.
Cancer:
Develops when cells in a
part of the body begin to grow out of control. Although there
are many kinds of cancer, they all start because of out-of-control
growth of abnormal cells. Cancer is the second leading cause
of death in the United States. Hypnosis can be used to
alleviate pain and medication intake, as well as reduce the negative
affects from chemotherapy or radiation treatment. In many
cases, new approaches with hypnosis seem to be helpful in causing a
reversal of the disease. Finally, hypnosis is an effective aid
in dealing with the emotional aspects of this illness.
Depression Associated with Chronic
Illness: Hypnosis can be very useful in dealing with the
mental health of the patient. A depressed patient does not
seem to heal or bounce back from illness like the patient that is
mentally healthy. Hypnosis can help the depressed patient
regain their will to be happy which will help them in their
recovery.
Diabetes: Is an illness in
which the body does not produce or properly use insulin.
Insulin is a hormone that enables the body to convert sugar into
energy. If diabetes is not treated properly, the disease can
be fatal! Approximately 17 million people in the United States
have diabetes...6.2% of the population! The two most prominent types of diabetes are: Type
1 - This type requires daily insulin injections; Type 2 - This type
occurs most often as an individual grows older, and is usually
controlled by oral medication. Hypnosis can be
effective in keeping the effects of this disease under
control.
Fibromyalgia:
Is a medical condition
marked by soft tissue pain, fatigue, sleep disturbance, and widely
distributed areas of tenderness known as "tender points". It
is estimated that this chronic condition affects about 3.4% of women
and .5% of men. There is no laboratory test to diagnose
fibromyalgia, and some physicians refuse to acknowledge fibromyalgia
as a true condition stating that it is "all in your mind."
Hypnosis can reduce stress and help you sleep better. More
importantly, the use of hypnotic conditioning can help in the
modification, alteration, or removal of symptoms and
emotions.
Pain
Management: Your Hypnotist can help you experience the effects of
hypnosis induced pain reduction. Then you will be taught
self-hypnosis so that you can create the reduction of pain
yourself. Individual results vary depending on the origin of
the pain. Sometimes the pain is eliminated, or reduced, or
reduced to the point where less medication is required, leading to a
higher quality of life.
